Bakken Energy, a developer of affordable clean hydrogen supply, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with each of Cummins Inc. to work together on the design of the Heartland Hydrogen Hub to serve the needs of long-haul trucking. The industry-led Hub will include Bakken Energy’s large scale affordable clean hydrogen production.

The number of hydrogen stations deployed globally has surpassed the 1,000-mark, according to a study by Information Trends. China represents roughly one-third of global deployments, but the US lags far behind with less than 100 hydrogen stations. Another four Asia-Pacific countries have also deployed hydrogen stations.

The Hydrogen Heavy Duty Vehicle Industry Group—comprising Air Liquide, Hyundai, Nel Hydrogen, Nikola Corporation, Shell and Toyota—has signed agreements with Tatsuno Corporation and Transfer Oil S.p.A. to industrialize globally-standard 70 MPa hydrogen heavy-duty vehicle high-flow (H70HF) fueling hardware components.
