Airbus has revealed three concepts for the world’s first zero-emission commercial aircraft which could enter service by 2035. To achieve that 2035 deadline with commercial product, Airbus would have to select the specific technologies by 2025, according to Grazia Vittadini, Chief Technology Officer.

Mihm power plant in Michigan using an unmodified Wärtsilä 18V50SG engine. The Wärtsilä 50SG is a four-stroke, spark-ignited gas engine generating set. Throughout the testing period, the Wärtsilä engine continued to supply power to the grid. A 95% engine load was achieved with the 25 vol% H 2 blend.
