Climate & Renewables North America, LLC (E.ON) signed an agreement with Tucson Electric Power (TEP) to provide frequency response and voltage control from a grid-scale, 10 megawatt (MW) battery energy storage facility with a 2 MW solar array. The project is expected to be completed in the first half of 2017.

Halla Visteon Climate Control Corp. Introduced in Europe in 2013, the ix35, also known as the Tucson, is slated for a limited US distribution this spring. Halla Visteon Climate Control is a full-line automotive supplier of climate systems and components. Winners will be named in April.

Hyundai used the ongoing COP21 Paris climate-change talks as a backdrop to unveil a handful of hydrogen fuel-cell taxis. The model--known as the Tucson Fuel Cell in the U.S.--is Five Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell crossovers were delivered to Parisian taxi service STEP (Société du Taxi Electrique Parisien) this week.

The program involves Hyundai providing a number of Tucson Fuel Cell CUVs ( earlier post ) for daily use and confirmation by the DOE using existing hydrogen infrastructure. In February, Hyundai reported that Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell drivers had accumulated more than 1,000,000 miles on the roads and highways of Southern California.
