The UK government has today released figures of regional CO2 emission results with emissions falling in 335 out of 434 local authorities across the country. Today’s results show that total CO2 emissions have dropped by 2% between 2005 and 2007, with emission levels now reduced by 21% in comparison to 1990 levels.

Europe is moving forward with plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from vans. The European Commission has today proposed tough new CO2 cap for vans at just 175g/km of CO2 or at least 42.8mpg by 2016. There would also been a long term emission reduction target of 135 g/km by 2020.
