This time, it's Volvo. Volvo Cars is introducing the Volvo ReCharge Concept , a plug-in hybrid with individual electric wheel motors and batteries that can be recharged via a regular electrical outlet for maximum environmental benefit. The Volvo Recharge, like the Volt , is a series platform car.

Volvo Cars will introduce the production version of the S60L T6 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid sedan at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show; the plug-in sedan first made its appearance as a concept car at the Beijing auto show in 2014. The new S60L Twin Engine is manufactured in Volvo Cars’ Chengdu Plant. Recharging time varies with amperage.

Daimler Trucks also presented for the first time a preview of a purely battery-powered long-haul truck, the Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul, which is designed to cover regular journeys on routes that can be planned in an energy-efficient manner. Battery power will be rather used for lower cargo weights and for shorter distances.
