Australia introduces its first exhaust rule but makes all the mistakes the US did

Australia doesn’t have its own fuel efficiency standards, making it one of only two advanced countries without such a rule, alongside Russia. The new emissions rules intend to change that, and to increase availability of EV options for the country. This will result in 321 million fewer tons of carbon emissions in Australia by 2050.

BMW fitting all gasoline and PHEV models in Germany with particulate filters for Euro 6d-TEMP compliance

As of July 2018, all BMW gasoline and plug-in hybrid models available in Germany will be fitted as standard with a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) and thus will comply with the exhaust standard Euro 6d-TEMP. The new MY2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van for the US now features a 2.1L, 4-cylinder diesel with a t-speed automatic transmission as standard. The familiar V6 diesel is available as an option. Renault Trucks introducing medium- and heavy-duty Euro VI engines at IAA

These will equip its trucks when the new standard becomes compulsory in January 2014 (January 2013 for new homologations). This will be available with three power ratings: 380 hp (283 kW) and 1800 N·m (1,328 lb-ft); 430 hp (321 kW) and 2050 N·m (1,512 lb-ft); and 460 hp (343 kW) 2200 N·m (1,623 lb-ft).
