Foxconn and PTT have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in setting up an open platform for producing electric vehicles (EV) and key components to serve the EV sector in Thailand. PTT is a Thai state-owned oil and gas company and the largest publicly listed conglomerate in Thailand.

In addition, the tax rate for pure electric vehicles in Thailand was reduced from 8% to 2% in June this year. According to Thailand’s electric vehicle plan, zero-emission vehicles will account for 30% of new vehicle production by 2030; by 2035, all cars produced in Thailand will be zero-emission.
