Foxconn and PTT have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in setting up an open platform for producing electric vehicles (EV) and key components to serve the EV sector in Thailand. The platform, comprising hardware and software services, will be available to all automobile players in Thailand looking to accelerate their production and sales of EVs in Thailand and elsewhere in the ASEAN region.

Report: Suzuki to build another engine plant in Indonesia, tripling its output

Report: Daido Steel to make neodymium magnets in US for motors in hybrids and EVs

The Nikkei reports that Daido Steel will build a neodymium magnet factory in the US to meet growing demand from automakers there for motors used in hybrid and electric vehicles. The US site will be the company’s fourth overseas production base, joining one in Thailand and two in China.
