Now hes in the midst of what looks like his most technologically ambitious mission yet: to fly around the planet in a green-hydrogen fuel-cell aircraft. It enabled him and a colleague to be the first people hoisted into the stratosphere, by a hydrogen balloon, in 1931. And the big part of the propulsion system is the hydrogen tank.

California Energy Commission holding two hydrogen workshops on infrastructure and fueling

In August, the California Energy Commission (CEC) will hold two public workshops related to the use of hydrogen as a transportation fuel: one on infrastructure, the other on measurement and dispensing. On 12 August, CEC staff will host a public workshop on California’s hydrogen fuel infrastructure.

Bolzano orders 12 Solaris hydrogen buses

The Italian city of Bolzano is the first customer to order Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses. Twelve Solaris hydrogen buses will follow the last year’s delivery of battery vehicles. Hydrogen is stored in composite roof tanks; the bus will be capable of covering up to 350 km (217 miles) on a single refill. Earlier post.)

NNL and DNV partner to explore large-scale nuclear production of hydrogen for UK gas network

The UK’s National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) and DNV are partnering to explore the potential of nuclear-derived hydrogen to support the conversion of UK gas networks to hydrogen. As part of the ANSIC pilot’s ongoing commitment to help reach net zero, NNL is running three hydrogen workshops, with the first commencing on 30 November 2021.
