The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) released for public review and comment a draft of the Roadmap of Standards and Codes for Electric Vehicles at Scale developed by the Institute’s Electric Vehicles Standards Panel ( EVSP ). This includes recommending pre-standardization research and development (R&D) where needed.

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is calling on the EPA to consider EV efficiency in its upcoming GHG standards for cars. Endesa, Spain’s largest utility, has developed a prototype V2G (Vehicle to Grid) charger that enables electric vehicles to return stored power to the grid. These projects also evaluate the impact of a large-scale introduction of EVs on the power grid.
