Jaguar unveils extended range electric vehicle

The brand new concepts are coming thick and fast and now it is Jaguar’s turn to unveil an extended range electric vehicle. The Jaguar C-X75 concept uses twin gas micro-turbines from Bladon Jets to power two switched reluctance generators from SR drives. Traction comes from four 145kW, 400Nm traction motors at each wheel.

General Motors has already got into the electric vehicle race with its Chevrolet brand – and now Cadillac is the next in line. The company has announced that the Cadillac Converj extended range electric vehicle concept will indeed be made into a production car – that will be called the Cadillac ELR.
