Unibuss AS, one of the biggest Norwegian carriers, has contracted for the delivery of 183 Solaris Urbino 18 electric buses for the Norwegian capital Oslo. The total value of the contract, concluded as a result of a tender, stands approximately €100 million. This marks the largest single-order yet for Solaris electric buses; the largest contract for Solaris for battery articulated vehicles completed so far was the contract with MZA Warsaw for the supply of 130 vehicles.

General Motors plans to invest nearly $154 million in its Western New York Lockport Components plant. The investment will be used to renovate the facility and purchase and install new machinery and equipment used in the production of the stator module, a key component in an electric motor. Canadian Pacific is expanding its Hydrogen Locomotive Program from one to three locomotives, with expected delivery in 2022, and has ordered eight additional 200 kW fuel cell modules from Ballard to support the expansion. Inclusive of Ballard’s announcement in March 2021, the company will provide a total of 14 fuel cell modules, each module with a rated power output of 200 kW, to support this program.

Only available in the US beginning in March of 2021, the hot-selling Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) was apparently the top-selling PHEV in the US last year. I say apparently as a PR person with Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, stated the following to me in a January 18 email: I can tell you that it is true, we were the best selling plug-in hybrid SUV last year in the US.
