TfL Board approves production order for 600 new hybrid buses for London

The Board of Transport for London (TfL) approved a production order for up to 600 of New Bus for London vehicles over the next four years. Nissan launches LEAF “taxi” campaign in London

A trip from central London to Heathrow Airport, for example, would cost the Nissan LEAF driver a mere 28 pence in electricity whereas the driver of a gasoline-powered car would be forking out £1.68

Electric vehicle lease scheme launched in London with 50 LEAFs; enrolled in EV trials

An electric vehicle (EV) leasing scheme has been launched in London as part of UK Power Networks’ Low Carbon London EV trials. The lease scheme aspect of the Low Carbon London EV trials is being delivered in partnership with Future Transport Systems. EVs are exempt from road tax and the London Congestion Charge.

Mayors of 12 major cities pledge to procure only zero-emission buses from 2025; major areas to be zero-emission by 2030

The mayors of London, Paris, Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Quito, Vancouver, Mexico City, Milan, Seattle, Auckland and Cape Town have pledged to procure only zero-emission buses from 2025 and ensure that a major area of their city is zero emission by 2030. Lead by example by procuring zero emission vehicles for city fleets.
