Researchers from Stanford University and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) have engineered and demonstrated a solid-oxide electrochemical cell (SOC) with a porous ceria electrode that achieves stable and selective CO 2 electrolysis beyond the thermodynamic carbon deposition threshold. This could also reduce production costs.
