Researchers from Oregon State University College of Engineering, with colleagues from Cornell University and the Argonne National Laboratory, have used advanced experimental tools to provide a clearer understanding of an electrochemical catalytic process that’s cleaner and more sustainable than deriving hydrogen from natural gas.

In their proof-of-concept tests, the team reported 120 individual frequencies between 0.25 A gold-plated silicon wafer was used as a beam splitter to reflect a small portion of the pump beam into the reference gas cell, while the rest entered the terahertz cavity. The aim is to prevent the individual cylinders from influencing each other negatively during load cycles, and to improve the gas cycle. Fresh air is used in addition to oil and water to cool the turbocharger. Thanks to its good thermal conductivity, the water-cooled mould allows rapid cooling and solidification of the melt.
