Volvo Construction Equipment investing $7.8M in battery pack production at excavator plant

The new facility at the Changwon plant will produce a wide range of common electric storage solutions (battery packs) for Volvo Group and become a core competence center for electric excavators. The building work will begin in April 2023, with battery pack production expected to commence in June 2024.

JRC study finds 8 metals for low-carbon energy technologies at risk of shortages; EVs, wind and solar, and lighting the applications of most concern

A new European Joint Research Centre (JRC) study looking into the supply of raw materials for the manufacture of low-carbon energy technologies found that eight metals were at high risk of shortages. The applications, i.e. technologies, of particular concern as a result are electric vehicles, wind and solar energy, and lighting.

4 companies jointly propose $8B green energy initiative for LA area; Wyoming wind, Utah storage, transmission
