Stadler wins contracts for up to 120 battery-powered trains, 25 hydrogen trains

Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) has awarded Stadler a framework agreement for up to 120 battery-powered trains. The signing of the framework agreement and the initial order for 16 FLIRT battery is expected to take place in autumn 2023. Stadler designed and built the first multiple unit with hydrogen propulsion for SBCTA in California.

Mercedes-Benz presents prototype Unimog with hydrogen combustion engine; multi-power distribution

At this year’s demopark open-air exhibition, Mercedes-Benz is presenting a prototype of the Unimog based on the U 430 with hydrogen-powered combustion engine as part of the publicly funded “WaVe” project. Renault outlines initial HYVIA hydrogen fuel cell vehicle and infrastructure offerings

In June, Renault Group and Plug Power launched their hydrogen fuel cell and infrastructure joint venture HYVIA. Assembly of fuel cells and hydrogen refueling stations begins at Renault’s Flins factory in late 2021. These vehicles are built on a Dual Power architecture: powered by both electrical and hydrogen-based energy.
