These projects put more than 9,000 alternative fuel and energy-efficient light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles on the road, and establish 542 refueling locations across the country. The project will deploy 502 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles through 119 public and private fleets throughout the state.

The Governors of California, Oregon and Washington and the Premier of British Columbia signed a regional agreement strategically to align policies to reduce greenhouse gases and promote clean energy. Washington will set binding limits on carbon emissions and deploy market mechanisms to meet those limits.

The company also will test three different alternative fuels—Reclaimed Grease Fuel; B20 biodiesel; and liquefied natural gas—in its heavy-duty trucks. Wal-Mart uses Class 8 trucks to haul its trailers and deliver product to its stores. Wal-Mart will test this diesel-electric hybrid in the Detroit area.
