The area has excellent conditions for industrial activities: a deep-water harbor and an excellent electricity transmission network. Finland is an ideal location for our project.

EC approves second major battery innovation project; €2.9B (US$3.5B) from 12 member states

The project, called “European Battery Innovation” (EuBatIn) was jointly prepared and notified by Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. In 2018, the Commission adopted the Strategic Action Plan for Batteries and has promoted a wide range of initiatives as part of the plan.

Steelmaker SSAB to start using liquefied natural gas in Raahe mill slab reheating furnace

Steelmaker SSAB will start using liquified natural gas (LNG) in its Raahe (Finland) steel mill, where it will replace the use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the walking beam furnace in the strip mill and be as a support and additional fuel in the boiler in Raahe Voima’s power plant. Deliveries to Raahe will start in early 2018.
