Magna to engineer and produce new off-road EV for INEOS Automotive in 2026

Magna has been awarded a contract to manufacture an all-new INEOS Automotive electric off-road vehicle, expected to start production in Graz, Austria in 2026. Part of the development process for this new 4X4 will include a rigorous testing program on Austria’s Schöckl mountain, which is close to Magna's complete vehicle assembly facility.

Alstom reports successful 1.5y trial operation of Coradia iLint fuel cell trains, next project phase begins

EC approves second major battery innovation project; €2.9B (US$3.5B) from 12 member states

The project, called “European Battery Innovation” (EuBatIn) was jointly prepared and notified by Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. In 2018, the Commission adopted the Strategic Action Plan for Batteries and has promoted a wide range of initiatives as part of the plan.

Alstom and MOL to explore use of hydrogen technologies for rail transport in Hungary

Alstom and MOL, Hungary’s leading oil and gas company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to structure cooperation in examining the use of hydrogen technology in rail transportation. Alstom is a pioneer of hydrogen technology, having introduced the Coradia iLint to the German market in September 2018 ( earlier post ).

MAN and Austria’s CNL partnering on medium- and heavy-duty electric trucks; trials this year, production 2018
