The combustion engine is based on the DTM unit used in the BMW M4 DTM in 2017 and 2018. The normally-aspirated P66/1 eight-cylinder engine used in the 2017 and 2018 seasons in the BMW M4 DTM was the one that got the nod. The two drive components were connected in the car for the first time at the end of June.

On 1 September 2017, new emissions regulations for passenger vehicles come into force in the EU and Switzerland. Between 2009 and 2011 various workgroups were formed under the umbrella of the UN’s Economic Commission for Europe to develop a new emission-measuring method called the Worldwide Light Duty Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).

SAIC Mobility Europe, a division of China’s largest vehicle manufacturer, SAIC, is introducing the Maxus light commercial vehicle brand. It is responsible for managing the introduction of SAIC brands, products and services into European markets in the coming years, including Maxus light commercial vehicles and MG passenger cars.

Fees that respond to traffic volumes in real time and with site precision, taking into account factors such as vehicle type and exhaust emissions, can significantly improve traffic flow and contribute to reducing air pollution, they suggest. A toll for road use would bring these costs to light and reduce congestion. That’s unfair.

At the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show, Audi is presenting the Audi Q8 sport concept, a new performance-oriented take on the Q8 concept study introduced at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show. The electric powered compressor supports the turbochargers at times when the exhaust gas is insufficient for rapid development of power.

The new six-cylinder in-line engine comes with an intelligent form of turbocharging: assisted by the ISG at start-off, the electric auxiliary compressor (eZV) guarantees immediate high torque when driving off and accelerating, bridging the time before the large exhaust turbocharger cuts in. Almost imperceptible restart of the engine.
