Helbiz partners with Lightning eMotors to deploy electric vans for fleet management

Micro-mobility company Helbiz is exploring the electrification of its fleet with Lightning eMotors. The new vehicles are capable of achieving 61 MPGe, compared to 13 MPG for gasoline-powered vans. Looking ahead, Helbiz plans to deploy Lightning eMotors’ vans throughout each city in the United States in which it operates.

Hertz adds 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid to rental fleet

The Hertz Corporation, which includes the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands, has expanded of its Green Traveler Collection car rental fleet to include the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid ( earlier post ) in select cities across the US. All of the Green Traveler cars have fuel efficiency ratings starting at 33+ highway mpg.

Geely Auto’s flagship Bo Rui GE hybrid selected as part of China’s diplomatic fleet; 48V MHEV or PHEV

Obama Announces New National Fuel Policy; Two Harmonized Standards, with Fleet Average of 35.5 mpg, 250 gCO2/mile by 2016

The resulting new standards will cover model years 2012-2016, and will require an average fuel economy standard of 35.5 mpg in 2016 (39 mpg for cars, 30 mpg for trucks), or approximately 250 grams CO 2 /mile. The CAFE program established by the EISA 2007 legislation specified a minimum 35 mpg in 2020.
