EPA projects that the hybrid share of new vehicle sales will increase to 4.3% As part of its 2010 estimates, EPA is projecting an increase in hybrid share to 4.3%, up from 2.3% mpg, or 16%, since 2004. The four-cylinder engine market share grew from 38% in MY2008 to 51% in MY2009 (and comprised nearly 70% of the car market).
