The 2009 Escape and Mariner Hybrid FWD models qualify for a $3,000 tax credit; 4WD models $1,950. Ford Hybrid Tax Credit Amounts. The credit amount is based on a vehicle’s potential fuel efficiency.

Continue implementation of Clean Air Act requirements on criteria pollutants (such as SO 2 and NO x ) and hazardous air pollutants (such as mercury) to include creating new performance standards for CO2 emissions from existing stationary sources, which would follow the performance standards for new plants released in March 2012.

As part of its aggressive electrification plan, Ford in 2009 doubled the number and volume of its hybrid electric vehicles to include the award-winning Ford Fusion and Escape hybrids and Mercury Milan and Mariner hybrids.
