Due to a steady increase in availability of new models, expanded price mix within existing models and widening eligibility of federal and state incentives, acquisition cost is starting to fade as a hurdle to EV adoption, according to J.D. Tesla has announced plans to increase the price of its Model Y in multiple regions in the coming weeks, including in the U.S. market starting next month. According to a note on Tesla’s website , the price of all three Model Y configurations will increase by $1,000 in the U.S. on April 1.

Tesla has reduced the price of the Model Y on its website, noting that the discount will only be available for the remainder of this month. Interstingly, the automaker also writes that “prices will increase by $1,000 or more” starting on the first day of next month. “Prices will increase by $1,000 or more on March 1.”
