Plug Power and Lhyfe, a producer and supplier of renewable hydrogen, announced an partnership to pursue and develop jointly green hydrogen generation plants throughout Europe. Plug Power is the largest buyer of liquid hydrogen globally and has been present in Europe for more than 10 years.

Shell starts up Europe’s largest PEM green hydrogen electrolyzer; 10MW, expansion to 100 MW

Plans are under way to expand capacity of the electrolyzer from 10 megawatts to 100 megawatts at the Rheinland site, near Cologne, where Shell also intends to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using renewable power and biomass in the future. A plant for liquefied renewable natural gas (bio-LNG) is also in development.

More than 27 GW of new wind power generation capacity came online in 2008, 36% more than in 2007. New US wind energy installations totalled 8,358 MW for a total installed capacity of 25,170 MW.
