Global research and advisory firm Aranca has launched the Green Hydrogen Hub —an interactive online tool that tracks all green hydrogen proejcts that have come into operations since 2018. You can look at trends—for example the increasing adoption of green hydrogen across Europe since Russia invaded Ukraine.

Africa can produce 50 million tons of green hydrogen a year by 2035, according to a new study by the European Investment Bank (EIB), International Solar Alliance and the African Union, with the support of the Government of Mauritania, HyDeal and UCLG Africa. This is equivalent to energy costs of US$60 a barrel.

SoCalGas) and H2U Technologies are testing a new electrolyzer, called the Gramme 50, for the production of green hydrogen. Design specs for the Gramme 50 include a production rate of 30~50 Nm 3 /hr with a power consumption range of 5~7 kWh/Nm or 150~350 kW. These efforts could help drive down hydrogen production costs.

Hynamics, the hydrogen subsidiary of EDF group, has signed an agreement to collaborate with ABB and test the ABB Ability OPTIMAX for Green Hydrogen energy management system (EMS), which was launched to market in November 2022, across Hynamics’ plants to help optimize electrical costs of hydrogen production by up to 16%, according to ABB modeling.

bp signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Egypt under which bp will explore the potential for establishing a new green hydrogen production facility in the country. Green hydrogen is produced by the electrolysis of water, powered by renewable energy.

has provided a 20-megawatt PEM electrolyzer system to generate green hydrogen, making it the largest in operation in the world. The Cummins electrolyzer system is installed at the Air Liquide hydrogen production facility in Bécancour, Québec. 3,000 tons of hydrogen annually using clean hydropower.

The Yongsoo wave energy power plant, installed at berth 1 in the Korean Institute KRISO -Wave Energy Test Site (WETS), is preparing to produce green hydrogen from next year, according to a report from Ocean Energy Systems. From next year, green hydrogen will be produced offshore using marine energy power.
