General Motors announced Tuesday that it is delaying scaled-up production of its full-size electric pickups for a whole year, to late 2025. That extra year of time idling GM’s Orion Assembly in Michigan won’t be filled by additional production of the Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, however. Those models are still due to go out of.

The Tesla Cybertruck underwent “Al Capone-style” bulletproof testing with a Tommy Gun, CEO Elon Musk revealed on X. A video shared by a member of the Tesla Owners Club of Silicon Valley showed a Cybertruck driving down the highway with what appeared to be around 40-50 bullet holes in the driver’s side of the vehicle. Honda confirmed Thursday that the 2024 Civic Hybrid will be much more than a niche model—with plans to make the hybrid version 40% of total U.S. Civic sales. In U.S. spec, the 2024 Honda Civic Hybrid will include a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine, running on an efficiency-focused Atkinson cycle. It's part of Honda’s two-motor hybrid system.

When Figure announced earlier this year that it was working on a general-purpose humanoid robot, our excitement was tempered somewhat by the fact that the company didn’t have much to show besides renderings of the robot that it hoped to eventually build. BMW announced Tuesday that it will adopt the Tesla charge port and corresponding North American Charging Standard (NACS) for battery electric models in the U.S. and Canada starting in 2025. Drivers of BMW, Mini, and Rolls-Royce EVs with CCS charge ports will gain access to Tesla Supercharger stations using an adapter, starting in early 2025.

Tesla has gotten two new adoptees of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) in Toyota and Lexus, the companies announced on Thursday. Several large automakers have already adopted Tesla’s NACS connector, including Ford , General Motors , Honda, BMW, and Rivian, among others. However, Toyota and Lexus have now chosen to do the same thing, gaining access to Tesla’s Supercharger Network in North America in an effort to make charging more available for drivers of its EVs.

Tesla is reportedly beginning deliveries of its new Model Y units built at its Gigafactory in Shanghai, China after unveiling the updated SUV earlier this month. The latest of Tesla’s Giga Shanghai Model Y builds has begun delivering to customers in China, according to Chinese media outlet IT Home and other local outlets (via Sawyer Merritt ).
