Aptera this week gave an update on its solar-assisted EV, but still hasn't provided a firm timeline for production. The Aptera 3-wheeler uses integrated solar panels to boost range up to 1,000 miles in some versions, with enough power to outrun some sports cars, Aptera has claimed. It can also be charged conventionally, and Aptera was the first.

It’s a compact crossover based on the E-GMP platform that slots in roughly where the Kia Seltos does at the moment, which should give you a sense of what kind of size class we’re talking about here.

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service has landed a new client in Maersk, as the two companies came to terms on a deal that would provide the company’s Ocean fleet with internet access. Maersk announced this morning that more than 330 own-operated container vessels will now have Starlink installed, enabling the fleet to access high-speed internet with speeds at over 200 Mbps.

Lexus will unveil multiple concept cars at the 2023 Tokyo auto show which the automaker claims will preview a shift toward EVs.
