Hertz is making a significant investment to offer the largest EV rental fleet in North America and one of the largest in the world. Beginning in early November and expanding through year end, customers will be able to rent a Tesla Model 3 at Hertz airport and neighborhood locations in US major markets and select cities in Europe.

SacRT began piloting the service in February 2018 in partnership with the Franklin Neighborhood Development Corporation using compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles. Additionally, the company will direct $25 million of the $200 million investment for an initiative in the City of Long Beach and the Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles (Long Beach-Wilmington), for a “Green City” program. This represents the third of four investment phases as part of its 10-year commitment of $800 million in the state.

The Envoy fleet will feature 142 vehicles spread in pairs across 71 locations. To support powering the fleets, Electrify America will also install charging stations with ultra-fast chargers to power each service. More than 90 percent of the micro-shuttle’s service territory is in a low-income or disadvantaged Sacramento neighborhood.
