VERBIO begins production of biomethane from corn stover in Iowa; first-large scale plant in US

VERBIO has commenced production at its new plant in Nevada, Iowa. The plant will generate biomethane from corn stover (maize straw), and is the first large-scale commercial plant in the US to use the technology developed by VERBIO. VERBIO’s technology produces RNG from pure cellulosic material, such as corn stover or wheat straw.

GSC Logistics first to haul commercial cargo with a BYD electric semi through Altamont Pass

On 22 October 2019, GSC Logistics was the first to haul a commercial cargo using an electric semi through the Altamont Pass, with their BYD 8TT heavy-duty electric truck. As the largest motor carrier at the port, GSC hauls about 120,000 containers of cargo across Northern California and Nevada annually.

ABTC inferred resources report finds Tonopah Flats may hold 15.8 million tons lithium carbonate equivalent

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) ( earlier post ) announced results of its third-party Qualified Person (QP)-audited Inferred Resource Report that details the analysis of its lithium deposit at its Tonopah Flats Lithium Project in Nevada. Mineral processing was carried out at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Ore Dressing Laboratory.

Fulcrum to build second waste-to-fuels plant in Gary, Indiana

The FT portion of Fulcrum’s process is an adaptation of the well-established Fischer-Tropsch process which has been in commercial operations for decades.
