Globally, FedEx has more than 1,800 alternative-energy vehicles already in service. Another pair of electric vehicles is being purchased from a different manufacturer for delivery to the Los Angeles area later in 2010.

Electric vehicle maker THINK released its first US EV-Ready Cities Index. The top four cities included first-ranked Los Angeles and second-ranked San Francisco with Chicago and New York tied for third.
