The materials are generally nice and price-point-appropriate. The vertical infotainment screen looks good, though the learning curve for its use is a bit steep, especially if you aren’t steeped in the Google ecosystem. Speaking of price points, this is not a cheap car. Sometimes it’s nice and peaceful. The cabin helps.

In 2014, Google bought Nest for $3.2 In 2016 Google decided to sell Nest, so I left the company. Months after I left, Google changed its mind. Really pissed.

Winterkorn also emphasized that Volkswagen remains committed to its environmental goals, and noted that the present low level of oil prices would not change that. Oil will not be as cheap as it is at the moment for ever.

What excites me is the idea of cheap and accessible hardware! Roboticist, Google Brain. Musk mentioned a $20K price point, which would be a big deal. The cheapest human-sized humanoids I’m aware of are in the $150K range (a long way from the olden days of $1M price tags)… But I’ll believe the price when I can actually buy one.

Although Tesla gets the headlines (and stock price boost), Nissan and Chevrolet make the sales. The Google example of an expensive networked, free Level 2 charger in every employee’s slot is unrealistic, unaffordable and unnecessary in the real world. Providing a conventional 120V outlet is cheap and familiar.
