The zero-emission E-Transit was designed with insight from 30 million miles of customer telematics data showing that the average commercial van drives 74 miles per day. With a usable battery capacity of 67 kWh, the low-roof E-Transit cargo van has a targeted driving range of 126 miles.

The new Honda Fit EV at UC Davis is located at West Village Square right across the street from West Village’s other Zipcar, a Honda Insight, in front of “The Hub Market.” Both vehicles are available to all Zipcar members ages 18+ for hourly reservations, starting at $8.50 Zipcar has had vehicles on campus at UC Davis since 2009.

We can’t expect the market to move en masse towards electric until the public recharging network matches the landscape for petrol-powered vehicles. These stations provide a faster charging speed, typically adding about 25-30 miles of range per hour. It’s where 80% of Tesla drivers refuel, for example.

The far higher volumes of carbon dioxide per mile from heavy trucks make them an obvious target for zero-emission powertrains. It had a 264 kWh battery pack powering the tractor’s twin motors with more than 4,000 lb-ft of torque and a range estimated at up to 150 miles. Rising fuel-economy standards during the 2020s will do the same.

Among PEV Pioneer respondents, the median driving distance for one “driving day” was 45 km (28 miles), with a mean of 59 km (37 miles).
