China study connects ozone pollution to cardiovascular health

Green Car Congress

They monitored indoor and outdoor ozone levels, along with other pollutants. These effects were found with ozone exposure lower than that which affects respiratory health, and lower than current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) air quality standards. The team studied 89 healthy adults living in Changsha City, China, for one year.

Georgia Tech study projects potential mixed impacts of climate change policies on air quality

Green Car Congress

They used the EPA US 9-region national database (EPAUS9r) with the MARKet Allocation (MARKAL) energy system model to develop emissions scenarios and spectral nudging to downscale global climate to the regional scale over the US. CT1 begins in 2015 at $20 per ton CO 2 and reaches $90 per ton in 2050. 2010 and 2048?2052.

Perspective: The Role of Offsets in Climate Change Legislation

Green Car Congress

This article shows that including offsets in climate change legislation would likely make an emissions program more cost-effective by: (a) providing an incentive for non-regulated sources to generate emission reductions; and (b) expanding emission compliance opportunities for regulated entities. Assuming the offset is legitimate—i.e.,
