Volvo Cars has opened order books for the XC40 Recharge P8 AWD ( earlier post ), the company’s first fully electric car which is based on the best-selling SUV, in selected markets. The Recharge car line is the name for all Volvos with a fully electric and plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Volvo Cars formally inaugurated a new battery assembly line at its Belgian manufacturing plant in Ghent, where it will start building its first fully electric car, the XC40 Recharge P8, later this year. Volvo Trucks and Bucher Municipal have now entered into a collaboration to electrify sewer cleaner trucks. By the end of 2023, Bucher Municipal expects to deliver up to 80 fully electric sewer cleaner trucks to cities in Europe. Volvo Trucks goal is that electric models will account for half of its truck sales in 2030.
