If Australia does legislate an internal combustion engine ban in 2035 Nissan says it will be ready to comply. But more recently it has struggled to gain access to EVs because of the absence of a federally mandated CO2 emissions reduction structure and purchase subsidies. The Nissan Ariya could be in Australia in 2023 … or not.

After years of waiting Australia will have a CO2 emissions standard by January 1 2025 officially encouraging the purchase of electric vehicles if an ambitious Albanese Labor government timetable comes to pass.
