H2 MOBILITY, a leading operator of hydrogen refueling stations which already operates more than 90 stations across Germany, intends to use the funding to further expand its network to 300 stations by 2030, becoming the backbone of zero-carbon private and commercial traffic in Europe. The Air Resources Board re-adopted a Low Carbon Fuel Standard ( LCFS ), which requires a 10% reduction by 2020 in the carbon intensity of transportation fuels. The program requires that transportation fuels used in California meet a baseline target for carbon intensity which is reduced each year.

This program successfully committed $90 million over seven years for research, demonstration, and deployment projects to reduce the cost of fuel cells for transit use.
