ACL to begin transporting Canadian crude by inland barge to Gulf Coast for oil sands company MEG Energy

American Commercial Lines (ACL) will begin transporting crude oil by barge on the US inland waterways for MEG Energy (US) Inc. MEG Energy), a subsidiary of the Canadian oil sands company MEG Energy Corp. The first of the barges, launched on May 2012, was a clean service tanker with a capacity of 30,000 barrels.

Alberta approves Cenovus Narrows Lake oil sands project with demo and phase-in of solvent aided process to improve steam-oil ratio and production rate

Canadian oil sands project to recycle up to 97% of its produced water with GE evaporation technology

Grizzly Oil Sands ULC has selected GE’s (NYSE: GE) produced water evaporation technology for its Algar Lake project near Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. GE says that its evaporation process and contaminant reduction system is the only commercially proven method currently in use that achieves complete water recycling.
