DOE: US Light-duty electric vehicle miles traveled reached 13.7 billion miles in 2020

The number of electric vehicle miles traveled (eVMT) has been increasing each year since the introduction of the first mass market plug-in vehicles in late 2010. Between 2015 and 2020, the eVMT of all plug-in electric vehicles more than quadrupled. Note: eVMT for 2011 was too small to appear on graph.

Mitsubishi to produce Minicab-MiEV in Indonesia in 2024; first local production of the vehicle outside Japan

Mitsubishi Motors will begin production of the Minicab-MiEV, a onebox kei–car-class commercial electric vehicle (EV), at PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia (MMKI), MMC’s factory in Indonesia. MMKI has a production capacity of 220,000 vehicles per year, and currently produces the Pajero Sport, Xpander, and Xpander Cross.

AeroVironment completes first electric vehicle commercial charging station installations in Hawaii

AeroVironment has installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Marriott Waikiki in Hawaii. The new chargers are part of Hawaii’s growing charging infrastructure currently being deployed to support electric vehicles. The deadline for EV readiness is midnight, 31 December 2011.

Masdar City installs rapid charger

Masdar City, a low-carbon low-waste emerging development that aims to be one of the world’s most sustainable cities, has installed a rapid charging station in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI). Previously, the EVs had to be charged for six hours continuously using standard electrical outlets.

Coulomb Technologies Awarded $3.4M from CA Energy Commission to Install Electric Vehicles Infrastructure

The grant will provide funds for the installation of ChargePoint Networked Charging Stations for electric vehicles in three California metro regions: Los Angeles, Sacramento and the San Jose/San Francisco Bay Area. The remaining stations will be installed by October 2011.
