Ethos Electric Vehicles, a small, Alaska-based company building custom electric motorcycles and automobiles, has launched a $100,000 crowd-funding campaign for reworking an existing internal combustion engine kit car—the Graber Cars’ La Bala —into a low-volume production, all-wheel drive (AWD) electric roadster. A 2006 study, High Speed Rail and Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the US , released by the Center for Neighborhood Technologies, found that HSR lines in Europe and Japan released 30-70 grams of carbon dioxide per passenger-kilometer, versus 150 grams for automobiles and 170 grams for airplanes. The rise in HSR has been very rapid.

Under the leadership of BASF Future Business GmbH, eighteen partners from industry and science have formed the cross-sector consortium “HE-Lion” to develop and bring to market safer, more affordable high-energy lithium-ion batteries over the next four to six years for use in plug-in hybrid automobiles and electric-vehicles.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, posted the picture of a red Model Y on his Twitter along with his team, announcing the one-millionth car on March 9th, it took the company only 12 years to reach the mark since it produced its first car back in 2008. Initially, Tesla was handled by Eberhard and Tarpenning, before it was handed over to Musk in 2008.
