Korea researchers propose energy-efficient oxidative desulfurization process for ultra-low sulfur diesel

To produce ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) with sulfur content of less than 10 ppm, the main approach is to use the hydro-desulfurization (HDS) process to convert sulfur compounds into hydrogen sulfide. ODS can easily convert difficult-to-desulfurize components under low temperature and pressure conditions to form sulfur-containing sulfones.
