A study by a team from Carnegie Mellon University and Yale University suggests that BEVs could constitute the majority or near-majority of cars and SUVs by 2030, given widespread BEV availability and technology trends. The availability of EV models on the market has improved significantly, and the price-premium has dropped over time.

The all-new EQE SUV ( earlier post ) is the second fully-electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz based on the premium-class electric architecture (EVA2), following the EQS SUV. Starting from $77,900, the 2023 EQE SUV will arrive in US dealerships in spring. The overhangs and the front-end assembly have been kept compact.

Mullen Automotive, an emerging EV manufacturer, is acquiring a controlling interest in EV truck maker Bollinger Motors. The purchase price is $148.2 million in cash and stock for a 60% controlling interest, which gives Mullen the majority ownership of Bollinger Motors. Bollinger B1: Class 3 Sport Utility EV SUV.

South Korean automaker Kia has started production on its all-electric EV5 SUV for export in China, with the first markets targeted being Thailand and Australia, with Australia’s price expected to undercut Tesla’s Model Y. Kia’s top seller in Australia is the Sportage hybrid SUV with around 15,000 sales.
