Saft, Tianneng to create Li-ion JV in China; up to 5.5 GWh plant

Saft, a subsidiary of Total, has signed an agreement with Tianneng Energy Technology (TET), a subsidiary of the Chinese privately-owned Tianneng Group, to create a joint venture (JV) to expand their lithium-ion battery activity. The Tianneng Group is the leading privately-owned Chinese battery manufacturer founded in 1986.

US Army awards $6.2M contract for 24V Li-Ion 6T batteries to Bren-Tronics

Bren-Tronics has received a contract to provide high-volume automated manufacturing of Military 24V 6T Li-Ion batteries from the US Army Contracting Command through the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC). In the final requirement, Bren-Tronics will demonstrate the ability to produce 2,000 Li-ion 6T batteries per month.
