With Broward County’s purchase, Proterra has now sold more than 1,000 battery-electric transit buses in North America. Introduced in September, the Proterra ZX5 features the most energy storage and longest drive range of any 40-foot electric bus available in North America today.

The project, known as Joint Electric Truck Scaling Initiative, or JETSI, is the largest commercial deployment of battery-electric trucks in North America to date. With the deployment of a combined 50 BETs at its Ontario facility, NFI will operate the first 100% zero-emission freight logistics fleet in California.

If confirmed, this purchase order would allow STC to become the largest operator of electric school buses in North America. These electric buses would replace existing diesel vehicles within STC’s Canadian fleet. Deliveries would begin in 2022 and occur through the first half of 2026.

Nissan has launched a new fleet of Nikola and Kenworth electric semis that will deliver vehicles to dealers in Los Angeles. Further, with many dealers being located in and around city centers, automakers can cut down on diesel emissions and noise pollution in dense urban centers simply by switching to these electric offerings.
