According to an analysis by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), planned additions over the next two years to the US crude oil pipeline infrastructure should relieve the bottleneck at Cushing, Oklahoma which has been caused by the oversupply of oil resulting from the growth of crude oil production in the US mid-continent and Canada.

At last month’s World Renewable Energy Forum 2012 in Denver, Colorado, researchers from the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory presented papers on two different approaches to upgrade pyrolysis oils to hydrocarbon fuels or fuel intermediates. In short, bio-oil needs to be upgraded to produce a fungible liquid transportation fuel.

Today's Junkyard Find is a second-generation BRAT, found in a self-service yard between Denver and Cheyenne. In order to evade the 25 percent Chicken Tax on imported light trucks, Subaru installed carpeting and jump seats in the beds of 1978-1985 BRATs sold here. This oil-change sticker shows that it was still in Pennsylvania in 1993.
