Jeep’s first BEV, Avenger, debuts in Paris; joined by Avenger 4x4 Concept

Jeep also unveiled the Avenger 4x4 Concept, which amps up the off-road capabilities of the Avenger. Specifically, the battery pack is made up of 17 modules and 102 cells utilizing NMC 811 Lithium-Ion chemistry and delivers 400 km (249 miles) of range in the WLTP cycle, which becomes 550 km (342 miles) in the urban cycle.

Volkswagen to introduce the electric SUV coupé ID.5 GTX at the IAA

5 GTX SUV coupé will make its international exhibition debut on 07 September as a disguised concept at the IAA Munich Motor Show. 5 GTX is fully connected, can receive updates over-the-air and is fitted with Car2X technology. The large lithium-ion battery between the axles enables a projected range of up to 497 km (298 miles).

Chalmers team develops graphite-like anode for Na-ion batteries; Janus graphene

Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, have developed a nanometric graphite-like anode for sodium ion (Na + storage), formed by stacked graphene sheets functionalized only on one side, termed Janus graphene. Audi testing second-life EV batteries in factory vehicles

Audi is testing factory vehicles powered by used lithium-ion batteries at its main plant in Ingolstadt. When the batteries are empty, employees remove the battery packs weighing up to two tons from the vehicles and connect them to a charging station for several hours.
