Clean Alternative Fuel Conversions: up to 40% of the cost (labor and equipment) of an eligible clean alternative fuel conversion. Drayage Truck Replacement: up to 50% of the cost of eligible drayage trucks with a 2011 model year or newer heavy-duty engine.

The Methanol Institute (MI) released two new reports on the use of methanol as a safe, efficient and clean alternative fuel for cars, trucks and buses. Low levels of methanol can be blended with gasoline and used in the existing fleet of vehicles.

This “Clean Alternative Fuel Vehicle and Engine Conversions” (CAFC) rule, created a special category, known as Outside Useful Life (OUL), which applies to heavy-duty diesel engines with more than 435,000 miles, or more than 22,000 hours of operation, or are more than 10 years old.
