An autonomous Waymo car hit a cyclist in San Francisco yesterday – but luckily the cyclist had only minor injuries. According to Reuters, a San Francisco Fire Department spokesperson said that a 911 call was made, but that the cyclist was not taken to the hospital and left the scene on their own.

Waymo, the self-driving unit from Google parent company Alphabet, is set to expand its autonomous vehicle testing to include select freeways in Arizona. Waymo says that it also has years of testing experience with rider-only vehicle fleets, set to help inform its safety approach to the expansion.

Dow Kokam has signed two agreements to provide lithium-ion battery solutions to power electric medium-duty commercial vehicles with Motiv Power Systems and ZeroTruck, all designated for fleet operations. The fully-electric, 20-passenger shuttle bus has a 100-mile (161-kilometer) range.
