Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) showcased the utility’s first extended-range electric truck with manufacturer VIA Motors at three Bay Area National Plug-In Day events—in San Francisco, San Rafael and Cupertino—on Sunday. With a 402 hp (300 kW) electric motor and lithium-ion batteries, the vehicles have an electric range of up to 40 miles. The gasoline engine extends the range to 350 more miles.

AT&T recently deployed its 8,000 th compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle, achieving a major milestone in the company’s overall 10-year, $565-million commitment to add approximately 15,000 alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) to its fleet by end of year 2018. In addition to CNG, AT&T has deployed hybrid electric, all electric and extended-range electric vehicles, achieving a total AFV fleet of more than 10,000 vehicles located in 43 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.
